Ondina González

Director of the Justo and Catherine Gonzalez Resource Center
Ondina nació en La Habana, Cuba, y llegó a los Estados Unidos con sus padres y hermanos. Se establecieron en Rome, Georgia, donde sus padres encontraron empleo en Berry College. Obtuvo un bachillerato y una maestría en Historia simultáneamente, una Maestría en Finanzas Internacionales y un Doctorado en Historia. La mayor parte de su vida laboral ha sido en el sector sin fines de lucro, inicialmente en organizaciones pequeñas y luego como profesora. Su mayor alegría es su familia, especialmente su esposo, Karl, y su hijo, Jorge, ambos son hombres extraordinarios de quienes aprende cada día cómo ser más fiel y cariñosa. En estos días, ella es voluntaria en el Centro de Recursos Justo y Catherine González.
¿Qué le apasiona de su papel en AETH?
Ser parte de la misión de AETH y trabajar para difundir y preservar el legado de Justo y Catherine González a través del Centro de Recursos Justo y Catherine González.

Una persona que le inspire…
Karl (esposo), Jorge (hijo), Ondina (madre), Jorge (padre), Justo (tío), Thomas Thangaraj (teólogo), Milo Thornberry (ex colega).
Ondina was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States with her parents and brothers. They settled in Rome, Georgia where her parents found jobs at Berry College. She earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History simultaneously, a Master’s degree in International Finance, and a Doctorate in History.
Most of her working life has been in the nonprofit sector–initially in small nonprofits and then as a professor.
Her greatest joy is her family, particularly her husband, Karl, and their son, Jorge, both of whom are such extraordinary men that she learns from them every day about how to be more faithful and caring.
These days, she volunteers for the Justo and Catherine Gonzalez Resource Center.
