That is why we have scheduled the online conversation "How toteach to develop critical thinking", an opportunity to explore and deepen in the most effective strategies and methodologies to foster critical thinking in learning spaces.
Critical thinking is an essential skill in all the activities we do, and this event is designed to equip educators with the tools necessary to foster it. Learn from the experts and share your experiences as we explore techniques and approaches that can transform your teaching practice and your students' learning.

Patricia Bonilla.
Patricia Bonilla is the daughter of Mexican migrants. Growing up bilingual and bicultural, she experienced the challenges and creative possibilities of navigating multilingual and multiethnic spaces. Bonilla is a doctoral candidate at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, in the area of Christian education and congregational development. She is an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church and has worked in congregational ministry since 2005, as well as in community and youth development, focusing on fostering creative and liberating educational spaces for Latinx youth.
Bonilla's research interests bring into dialogue and practice critical pedagogies, decolonial theory and religious education with special attention to engagement with epistemologies of the South and pluriversal ecologies of knowledge. She is interested in how to educate holistically. As a practical theologian, she is keenly aware of the political, epistemological and cultural implications of education, specifically education for liberation and conscientization.
Fernando Cascante.
Fernando Cascante is a consultant for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. In addition to supporting scholarship programs, he works on initiatives in worship and preaching, leadership and cross-cultural training, and resource development. A native of Costa Rica, he pastored churches while teaching at the Latin American Biblical Seminary and the University of Costa Rica, institutions where he also studied theology and educational sciences, respectively. He also taught for 11 years at Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian Education (PSCE) in Virginia. Prior to joining CICW, Fernando was a leader of the Association for Hispanic Theological Education (AETH) for almost 12 years. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in education from PSCE.

Born in Costa Rica, he pastored churches while teaching at the Latin American Biblical Seminary and the University of Costa Rica, institutions where he also studied theology and educational sciences respectively. He also taught for 11 years at Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian Education (PSCE) in Virginia. Before joining CICW, Fernando was a leader of the Association for Hispanic Theological Education (AETH) for almost 12 years. He has MA and EdD degrees from PSCE.
